Badias Schirn Café in Frankfurt’s Schirn Kunsthalle became the scene of a light installation created by DIEZ OFFICE in collaboration with the manufacturers Vibia and Midgard. This lighting concept shows the modular design options of Vibia´s PLUSMINUS and Midgard´s AYNO to create overall atmospheric spaces. During the next years the installation will serve as a showroom for Vibia and Midgard.
Different lighting situations were created within the restaurant, illustrating how the selected products harmonize with each other, and at the same time highlighting the contrasts between them.
“This variant is something new and exciting for us as well. It’s also important for us to choose an installation that accurately conveys the character of both products. We want to make the idea of the modular system visible. It shouldn’t simply be a crazy light installation that could also be made from some other luminaire.”

Lighting installation
At Badia’s Schirn Café in Frankfurt, DIEZ OFFICE, in collaboration with the manufacturers Vibia and Midgard, created a permanent lighting installation featuring two of the studio’s latest works, PLUSMINUS and AYNO. The motivation for this project was to develop a lighting installation that would have a long-lasting and real use, instead of a temporary exhibition stand at the Light+Building fair.
The lighting concept developed by DIEZ OFFICE will remain in place for the next few years and the space will be used as a permanent showroom by both Midgard and Vibia.
